DMCA Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-02
HIHITEAM respects copyright. Petnunu hosts pet packs, comments and forum posts created by its users, and we remove infringing material when a rights holder tells us about it. We follow the process set out in the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) for every complaint, wherever you are.

1. What this policy covers
It applies to everything users put on Petnunu: pet packs and their sprites, preview images, sounds, comments, forum topics and replies.
That includes pets made with Petnunu Studio, our AI generator. Those carry an "AI-generated" label and a marker inside their files, but the label changes nothing about this process: if one of them infringes your work, send the notice and we handle it the same way.
This page is not legal advice. If you are not sure whether something infringes, talk to a lawyer before sending a notice — a false notice has consequences, as explained below.
2. Sending a takedown notice
A valid notice must be in writing and contain all six items required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3):
- Your physical or electronic signature, as the owner of the right or a person authorised to act for the owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed — or, if there are several works, a representative list of them.
- Identification of the material you say is infringing, precise enough for us to find it: the pet pack id or its URL, the comment, or the link to the forum post.
- Your contact details: name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the owner of the right or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
A notice missing any of these items may be invalid, and we may ask you to complete it before we act.
3. Where to send it
Send your notice to our designated agent at [email protected], with "DMCA notice" in the subject line.
4. What we do next
- We check the notice against the six items above.
- If it is complete, we remove the material or disable access to it — normally within 24 hours of reviewing the notice.
- We tell the user whose content it was and pass on your notice, including the contact details it contains, so that they can reply. Send only details you are willing to have shared.
- We record the complaint in a log kept against that account — what it was about, who sent it and when. That log is what the repeat-infringer policy below counts, and a complaint you later withdraw stays in it but stops counting.
5. Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice. To be valid under 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3) it must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the material that was removed, and the place where it appeared before it was removed;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed as a result of a mistake or a misidentification;
- your name, postal address and telephone number;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where you live — or, if you live outside the United States, of any district in which we may be found — and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We pass a valid counter-notice to the person who complained. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have gone to court, we may restore the material between 10 and 14 business days after we received your counter-notice.
Send counter-notices to [email protected] as well.
6. Repeat infringers
We close, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who infringe repeatedly. As a rule:
- first valid complaint — the content is removed and the account receives a warning;
- second — the content is removed and the account loses the right to upload for a period;
- third — the account is closed permanently, coins and unlocked pets are lost, and nothing is refunded.
A complaint that is withdrawn, or that is successfully answered by a counter-notice, does not count. We may act faster in obvious cases, such as a wholesale copy of a commercial game’s sprites.
7. False claims
Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing — or that it was removed by mistake — can be liable for the resulting damages, including costs and legal fees. Please do not use this process to silence criticism or to remove a pet you simply dislike.
8. Other complaints
Trademark, privacy, impersonation and similar complaints are not handled through this process. Use the report button in the app or on the website; our Terms of Service explain how reporting and moderation work.
For anything you consider illegal rather than infringing — under EU law or your own — use the notice-and-action route in "Reporting illegal content, and challenging our decisions" in our Terms. It reaches the same people, and it is the route we answer under the Digital Services Act.
